Reluctant Entrepreneurs

are you in business because you wanted a business? we didn't think so...

Hello, I'm Hannah, and I never wanted this business. 

What I really wanted was to own my time. 

What I really wanted was to serve a calling I felt in my soul. 

What I saw when I looked around were a bunch of systems that had no way to hold me. 

Unfortunately, this included even the systems of entrepreneurship on offer to me. Those, too, were systems that were not designed to nourish and nurture my service of my calling. They felt like the most brutal homework from my most punishing school days, like a stranglehold of bureaucracy, like a too-fast choreographed dance in shoes that hurt and a costume that was riding up. 

I had to find my own way to go. 

The Flight of the Corporate

Enter Mikey, in his seventh year as an entrepreneur in a much more traditional sense of the word. 

He was grinding out twelve hour days in a very legit company with employees and everything, something they'd scaled to well over a million dollars in annual revenue. He began coworking from our home some days of the week. 

Over a year, we learned something of each other's ways, and Mikey found himself surrounded by iterations of this Reluctant Entrepreneur. 

Mikey could see obvious ways our businesses were missing key systems. He saw women he cared for flailing in the face of what seemed to him to be clear and simple. 

Simple Growth Model

Mikey's not one to leave a damsel in distress, not when he could give her the keys to her own freedom. 

Those keys, it turns out, were white boards. I believe, if the count I have in my head is accurate, he purchased seven enormous white boards and installed them in various women's homes and offices. 

Mikey began doing workshops with each of us, sketching out the structures of our businesses to get a visual representation of the systems in action. 

A model emerged. Or else he'd already been developing it? I'll leave it to him to fill you in on that part. 

He called it the Simple Growth Model. A growing model, a living system, driven by four engines of growth. 

It was nothing like the business-building stuff that hadn't worked for me before. It was actually the missing piece I'd been needing to take my surrender to the next level. 

Alone, on the Shoulders of Giants

I did it alone, with a TON of help.

Remember how I said I had to find my own way to go? 

Well it's true and not true. I had excellent maps. I had exquisite teachers. I had the wisdom spelled out for me in several potent texts. 

Still, nobody was teaching the fullness of the mindset I'd discovered as it related to business. 

Even *I* could not teach the fullness of the mindset I'd discovered as it related to business because I *knew* I was missing so much of the "business" part. 

As we are putting together the Business of Surrender container, I have materials dating back two years. This has BEEN on my mind, but Mikey made it make sense. 

This is ancient wisdom of wealth, decolonized of hoarding, extraction, and transaction. 

This is universal laws of manifestation, grounded in humble humanity, tuned to the mundane ontology of living a sweet and good life. 

This is feminine surrender as an act of UNION with masculine systems, a creation and nourishment of masculine systems which exist only to serve the feminine experience of ease, surrender, nourishment, service, creation, and support. (None of this is about women and men...)

This way is as much an undoing as it is a doing. 

If you had a practice of taking a hammer and nail to building the plants in your veggie garden, we'd have to go ahead and stop that before we'd see anything grow.

I swear, it's literally physics! Ok, let's get back to Mikey...

Mikey made strategies that made my systems make sense. 

Mikey showed me the ways my business was already strong and how to double down on those places. 

The Simple Growth Model laid out my business, from the minutia to the macro vision and made everything clearer. I unlocked a new layer of surrender and ease when I saw exactly what was working and was able to give that proper attention. 

His system is practical, yet I've experienced it as more magical than ANYTHING I did with my mindset and belief technology. 

It feels magical to me because it's unburdened me. It feels magical because I am doing less than ever. It feels magical because it has only inspired, enlivened, and expanded my creativity to have in place a system that really works for me. 

This is a system designed to curate the experience I want to be having of my business and my larger life. 

The Business of Surrender

Phase 1 Offering: Masterclasses beginning January 2026

Phase 1 of Business of Surrender is all about getting on the same page and speaking the same language. 

Is my book a product or is it marketing I get paid for? 

Did I EVER want to think about things like that? NO! But here I am, in the thick of it, and boy does it make a lot of things make sense when everything is sorted properly. 

It's like anything--simply having eyes on it gives it new life. 

In six live sessions, we are going to place our attention on every aspect of our businesses according to the Simple Growth Model, and we are going to do it in the tone of Devotional Love, thinking and speaking about devotional service in devotional business so that devotion infuses your marketing. 

This is the deeper layer of learning to market, aka to communicate with people who love you and want what you offer, in a relational way that feels authentic and isn't constantly jabbing at "pain points," invoking false urgency, or demanding transactions. 

Love, we both know that was never gonna be your style. 

After phase 1, you'll still have access to some asynchronous support and ongoing access to the recorded materials. You'll have plenty to take it away from there. 

For those of you who find you want more at that time, we will then be opening phase 2 and 3, individual support and mastermind support.
